A Haven of Subdued Elegance

An architectural graduate from Pratt Institute, New York, Praneetha Rebala’s love for s took precedence when she stumbled upon interior firms, that wanted to make design a luxury indulgence instead of making it an indispensable part of one’s lifestyle. After working for some of the leading design firms in Singapore and the USA, she set out to create a brand where chic designs could be affordable, accessible, and customisable. As a result, Prebala Designs, an architectural firm, was born. Though she is a trained architect, Praneetha has perfected interior projects ranging from F&B to Commercial to Residential.

Praneetha and Dipika have known each other for 29 years and even lived together in New York in the midst of renowned designers. From designing doll houses together at the age of 5 to building an interior design company with Studio TwentyOneTwelve, the founders saw their dreams take wings through friendship, hard work and love for turning spaces into beautiful pieces of art interior.

Dipika Pallikal Karthik, Praneetha’s long-time friend of 29 years, joined her in her venture. Dipika has a remarkable taste for interiors, which was even noticed by Asian Paints. The two have known each other since childhood, having built dollhouses together and even living together in New York.

The walkway leading up to the grand entrance of the villa is a timeless concrete pour, with lush green foliage providing a refreshing welcome on either side. The underside of the portico is further enhanced by the warm wooden strips that grace the area, creating a cozy atmosphere upon entry.

The bright and cozy family living room has been furnished with the luxurious Isola sofa from Nicoline, Aftereight chair from Natuzzi Italia and Novello coffee tables from Natuzzi Editions, sourced from Hyderabad-based multi-brand showroom Elevate X. The textural cushions were chosen with care to create a seamless blend with the Rock Face thin granite cladding on the boundary wall, which can be seen as you approach this opulent living area. The grey concrete finish wall paint amplifies the beauty of the exquisite grey-blue sofa.

Eager to bring this vision to India, she partnered with Dipika Pallikal Karthik, who also shared the same passion for quality design and great attention to detail. After years of staying in beautifully designed spaces while representing India in international Squash tournaments, Dipika experimented with her style in her own home. Her remarkable taste for interiors even caught the attention of Asian Paints, who made a special feature with her!

Praneetha Rebala is an architectural graduate from Pratt Institute, New York, who has a passion for interior design. After working for some of the leading design firms in Singapore and the USA, she founded her own firm, Prebala Designs, to make chic designs accessible and customisable for everyone. Praneetha has perfected interior projects ranging from F&B to Commercial to Residential.

Through their friendship, hard work, and love for turning spaces into beautiful pieces of art, Praneetha and Dipika have made their dreams a reality with Studio TwentyOneTwelve.

The foyer of the home is a sight to behold, with a custom-made metal and dark wood console crafted by Elevate X, and a magnificent fluted mirror designed by the renowned Tonelli Design, creating a truly luxurious atmosphere.
